Welcome back friends! I hope that you all are staying warm and cozy. Today I'm back as a guest designer for my beloved MFT. I had fun creating this card for them!
Sometimes I get in a bit of a color rut. Traditional seasonal colors tend to dominate when I sit down to create. For today's card I challenged myself to use what my brain thinks of as a Summer color combination. This card was created as a birthday card for my daughter's 16th birthday, which was yesterday. I wanted it to be light and cheery like she is!
Snow Special is the cutest little penguin stamp set. I am always so grateful for the coordinating die-namics and Snow Special Die-namics is no exception.
Because I was stamping specifically for someone I thought of her and the colors that she likes. She's also a sparkle loving young lady. She's a friendly girl too so that inspired the cluster of penguins ice skating together. Ice skating was also an activity that she did this weekend! When I create for someone specifically I really love the inspiration I get. It's a great way to get those creative juices flowing.
Yes, I continue with my obsession with Wonky Stitched Rectangle STAX. The just add to any whimsy you want on a card.
As far as the colors that I based everything on I used Peach Bellini, Sno Cone, and Blue Raspberry card stock. I colored these little cuties in with a few Copic Markers and added glitter to the hats for that shine I was looking for. The glittered strips were added to tie into to bands on the hats.
Try it! Think of a favorite Summer color combo and winterize it!
Slide on over to the MFT Blog to check out all the other fun things they have going on over there!
Thanks for poppying by, friends!
Beatiful!!!!
