Today I went out into my herb patch and picked a few things to bring to friends. I loved seeing the Chive blossoms starting to open and the Sage blooms starting to grow. I've always loved creating stamped projects with a garden theme... and today is all about Gardens! We, the Papertrey Ink DT, are showcasing the new line up of garden themed products... including the new Garden Variety stamp set which I will be using today.
I wanted something colorful and bright but still with some "garden" colors. So I thought about Three things I wanted to include in my project...sunshine (Yellow), Blue Skies (blue/aqua) and growing (Green). Here is what I came up with!
I broke out one of my Edgers 1die to create the decorative bottom then stamped it and the top trim with the Gingham BG set.
The heart on the classic watering can is from Just For You.... I thought the stitching around the heart looked warm and friendly, coordinating well with the over all feel of the card.
It's really fun how Nichole designed the flowers to be able to "grow" in the watering can too.
You can see that the sentiment from Garden Variety stamp set was the inspiration for me to use a heart in the project. Such a great sentiment!
So... remember when I told you about cutting herbs for my friend? Well, this is what I wrapped them in...
The bag is a coffee bag that has had the top trimmed off. It's lined so it makes it great for carrying flowers of other things that might leak a little or seep.
I used the Seed Packet Fame die with the Garden Variety stamp set to create the focal point. I love the little decorative elements in the set that make it seem authentic... like the ten cent image. So sweet! Again, I felt the heart from Just For You was a perfect addition to this project. It was fun to deliver this today and hopefully she enjoys using those herbs too!
The rest of the DT have amazing garden themed projects to share... I am in awe of what they have all done! Check it out...
