Who doesn't love Melissa Phillips?! I've love her and her work forever... but it's her heart that shines through when you read her blog. This month Papertrey Ink has a fantastic stamp set that has been conceptualized by her! Nichole did a wonderful job illustrating her sentimentality in Love Lives Here too! We are featuring it for out DT group post today!!!
You may have seen this initial photo over on Nichole's blog. Did you guess what's inside? I used the house image and die from Love Lives Here as well as the newest fillable frames to create a tag for this glassine bag.
Simple but effective packaging for these cute felt house pins!
There is a little trick to making them so I thought I would create a few step out photos to show the process.
First I die cut the house out of foam core board. Love this stuff but I had forgotten a bit about it. So I ran it through the ol' bug and voila!
Next I used my kraft knife to trim into the corners (an old wood working trick)
The kraft knife was then used to make sure all the foam was cut through.
I also pulled off the heart paper and scooped out the heart foam, leaving the back paper in tact, using the tips of my scissors. (they aren't snips) at this point you can gently break away the excess foam...
and then take your scissors and trim the paper flush.
I used Zip Dry to adhere the glue to the pin/foam board die cut. Isn't that pin fun! I can't believe how easy it was... can't wait to make more too!
I can't tell you how much I am loving this new music background!
I have a few fun details on this focal point. I used the hearts that were left over from the other houses to create this little heart strip.
Make sure to check out the other DT member blogs... they have really outdone themselves today!
