It's not only day 4 of my Flutterby Friend Countdown... but it's group post day at Papertrey Ink! Be prepared for some major inspiration candy as you hop around! We are all sharing projects using Nichole and Mish's new collaborations... Friendship Jar & Friendship Jar Fillers! Only a few more days until June 15th when these will all be available!
Now.... for the projects!
I thought I would put a fun twist on a friendship gift set. Since I moved 3 years ago I've lost touch with a few really close friends. Things just keep happening to keep us apart.I was thinking of them when I created this.
This poor little butterfly's friend flew away. Can you see the little trail above the jar. *grin* I combined Friendship Jar and Fillers with Flutterby Friend to create this little cutie.
I used Copic Markers (0, T1, BG11, BG13, BG, 18, RV19, YR15, YR18, B41, green markers) to color these in. It was so fun to arrange the images in the jar!
It's all about missing that friend. The lost sentiment is from the jar set too... fun huh. Here is the inside.
Since the front was sewn so much, I chose to create a card front that I then glued on to the front of the card base. It made for a nice seamless and finished result.
I created some Bath salts and soap to go with this fun card. I used the Bath Salts sentiment from Just for you for the lid of this recycled jar. (I painted the lid with acrylic paint)
Isn't that Home Made sentiment fun! I love the font mixture in Friendship Jar!
Here is the soap I made with the larges butterfly from Flutterby Friend. My kids did a major Oooooo and ahhhhh over this one when I pulled it out of the mold. (See this post for directions on how to make soap designs with clear stamps!) Imagine how creative you could get with the different colors with this image in soap! This is pitifully easy and trust me when I say that your stamp will be just fine!
Here is the ensemble all together. So bright and cheery. Doesn't the butterfly on the soap look like it just could be that missing friend! ;)
Maybe this will help rekindle a friendship much missed!
I have on more card to share today using Flutterby Friend.
You might have noticed that I don't have a real specific style. (except that I like defined lines and white space) I like to dabble in a little bit of everything. This card is more on the shabby side of things.
Another example of not coloring in the images and utilizing ink to make a statement. Sewing really came into play for this card too... as well as one of my new favorite button twine tricks... knots! Little snip of New Leaf die cut, using the Eyelet Lace border die, adds a nice design contrast and finishing touch.

Have you come up with any thoughts for creating using one of the sets featured here today? My brain is still spinning with ideas! I wish I had the ability to not sleep and stop time so I could make everything my little brain imagines!
Tomorrow is the last sneak peeks using Flutterby Friend. I've saved one of my favorites for last too! Gotta give a little bit of a bang since I won't have another set released until September.

Please tell us more about making that cute soap! I read the tutorial and wonder what soap mold you used. Did you use a special kit? Did you use white and clear blue? So many questions. What size is the soap? Please, can you give us some more specific details? It is so, so cute.
