It's MAY!!! That means it's time for another Papertrey Ink Sr. DT challenge post. We've got some ribbon trick for yo this month!
I love tying bows with Papertrey Ink's dotted ribbons. Have you ever wondered how to tie a bow making sure the dots shows on both tails? Well that's the little trick I'm sharing today!
I got brave and put together my first video. :) I sort of feel like that rebel tail on the bow needs taming... so that's one of the tricks I'm showing... there are a few other tips and tricks too!
I know I've got a ton to learn about making Video... but you have to start somewhere! LOL! Hopefully those tips helped if this is a new concept to you. (if not, I'm sure you will get a giggle over my silly bunny talk! LOL!) Um... yep, unscripted. heehee.
Here is a fun card I created using Some of my favorite stamp sets and showing that exact matching tail bow from the video!
The rocking chair is from Chair-ished. I thought it would look cute with a polka dot background, created with the Polka Dot Basics II stamp set. A Little Argyle is used for creating the dotted diamond background.
Here's a close up with that fun Raspberry Fizz Swiss Dot bow! Oh... I also used RV 14 Copic markers to color Button twine to match. How fun is that! Love the color pop! The button is just glued right one. Such a happy bow!
Here are the links to the other Sr. DT blogs as well as Nichole's and Ashley's (our distinguished guest designer!)
You are in for a treat! These ladies really know how to work with ribbon!
Don't forget that Papertrey Ink May sneak peeks start soon... I've been a busy little bee making a ton of preparations. I can't wait to share too! Thanks for poppying by friends!
- Stamps- Chair-ished, A Little Argyle, Polka Sot Basics, (thanks sentiment from On My Couch Additions)
- Ink- Hibiscus Burst, Smoky Shadow, True Black, Raspberry Fizz
- Paper- White, Hibiscus Burst, true Black
- Other- Raspberry Fizz Swiss dot ribbon, Marvy Circle punch, True Black buttons, Button Twine.
Oh goodness! It could not be time to start the crazy time ,as my hubby calls it, all over again! Thanks for the tips. I never knew how to get the bows like that!!

The video is fantastic, all these little tips are a great help to those of us who don't do it all the time (but would like to). You should be very proud of your stamp designs and your cards are amazing.

Ok miss Lisa... the folding the ribbon in half to get the v-cut... definitely a "Why haven't I thought of that!" moment, lol! Thanks so much for sharing.

Holy moly! I never knew about folding the ribbon so you can cut a perfect "V"!!!! I'm seriously so giddy right now because I'm envisioning perfect ribbon ends from now on!!! :)

Love your card and really loved the video. It's really nice to hear as well as see what you create and the technique you use. Love the bunny tip - something I had not seen before.

I just have to say Thank You for the video! That was probably the most helpful demonstration for tying a bow that I've seen. I usually end up tying knots because I could never get my bows to work. Off to my room to make bows :)

Was so fun to watch you work Lisa! I too fiddle around with my bows to get the tails (and the knot!) all front-facing, even with just the plain satin! Such a great card too, thanks so much for sharing and keep the videos coming!

enjoyed the video- i am so pleased to be able to put the voices with the words and creations i view on your blogs! great tips for bow making and getting the perfect "v" ends. (just yesterday a coworker thanked me for the card i sent him as he was recovering from hip surgery. he said it really brightened his day. i used your "on my couch" & "on my couch additions" stamp sets to make the card. wanted you to know how much it made my day when i found out how much it had meant to him. thank you!)

Great video. I hope there will be many more to come. I can't wait to try the "V" cut. I have been stamping for awhile and never knew how to do this. Thank you!

oh gee, if I wasn't already sold on this set, you just did it! This card is so darn cute! I have not been able watch the video yet( I am sitting at home waiting for the technician to come and figure out why my Internet connection is only operating at 20%, when that's done I'll watch tons of videos!) But just had to tell you how much I love this card. Pink and black, polka dots, and a pun! What is not to love!

I love watching videos and I thought you did a great job. It would have been fun to see you add the bow to the card you ended up putting it on in the video instead of just after. Juat a thought, but I didn't think there was anything wrong with you video making. I say, keep 'em coming!

I love my Tonic scissors! They're excellent for both paper AND fabric!! They also repel adhesive, which is a plus when cutting double-sided tape!

Great video. Thanks for the tip about keeping a pr of scissors for my ribbons.

Thanks for the much needed and simple tutorial. And it was great to *hear* you, after feeling like I know you a little bit from following your blog! Great job on your first video!

Great tip! I've seen kids tie sneakers with the bunny technique but I never thought of using it for my bows. I usually end up having my husband put his finger on the know while I finish the bow. This doesn't work too well thought because his hands are large and in the way! Your technique is so much simpler! I also learned how to cut the V in the ribbon! Thanks so much!
