For this months Papertrey Ink Design Team group post we were asked to create a fun ensemble using Star Prints (available May 15th. I decided to create a graduation set since we are getting close to that time of year... it's just next month! I also wanted it to be semi rustic or even masculine... even though I would give this to either a boy or a girl.
My personal goal was to create something that was easily duplicatable... since I have more than 10 additional sets to make!
I loved the idea of using all of these neutral colors together. Aren't these different star patterns fun!
I used Fresh Alphabet and Let Freedom Ring (also available May 15th) to embellish and pull the concept together.
Lauren's Get a Handle on It Template was just the size that I needed too.... a really quick and easy resource. The fact that you can re-use it forever makes it even better!
I'm planning on making several of these and customizing each gift according to gender. The box is the perfect size for a new tie or Scarf. One of my favorite things to give a graduate is a sewing kit... it seems trivial but when it comes down to it they really need one if they are headed to college.
I'm sure you will be even more inspired by the rest of the team...I know I'm in AWE! Check it out!

Loved every little detail on this project! So incredibly balanced and chic! Even down to the color scheme. Well designed - and well photographed I might add! :-) Passed the info about Maggie Holmes photography class to a friend of mine who is really "into" photography and has the right camera for it. Your pics are gorgeous lately and I've really enjoyed them.

This is a great gift package that any graduate would be happy to receive. I love the embellishments, and the different neutrals you used to make something that would work for a boy or a girl that was graduating. Fantastic.

Yes, a sewing kit is a great idea for kids goin' off to college. We had graduations this weekend and my DD is now a college alumn....yep, I'm a proud (feeling old) mom. Lucky for you to have this set and still have a month to get grad cards made with it.

This is a very refined yet vintage look, kinda like mixing old antiques with contemporary pieces! Very effective and smart-looking.
