It's that time of the month again!!! Countdown time for the monthly Papertrey Ink new product release! I feel blessed to have another set to offer through them this month and the previews start today! Everything is available to purchase on May 15th. :) Here we go...
Let freedom Ring is a set of 18 images that are geared to a patriotic theme. I am excited to have been able to include some sentiments that make it possible to use the set for a few other celebrations too! I know that as a consumer I like flexibility in what I buy... I like options. This is something that I think about a lot when designing a set. This set is also a great price at only $15!
I thought I would start out with a really patriotic ensemble to share with you. You saw one of the firecrackers in the sneak peek... but there is two! I'm really pleased with the ease in which they can be stamped... and masking is a cinch because of the straight edges.
I've included some nostalgic patriotic sentiments in the set... God bless America is such a great song by Irving Berlin... I just knew I had to include the sentiment. I did separate it into two different stamps for more versatility and color use.
Aren't these little gift tins adorable! a perfect tabletop gift for guests at a 4th of July BBQ or even something you can drop off to a friend. We live in a semi-military town so a gift like this would be common all year long.
I wanted to create a folk-artsy card to finish the ensemble and Kraft cardstock lends itself so well to that style! Once again, I masked the sections of the cardstock to create the flag like pattern. You can see I have a nice star, a unique stripe image and a star cluster image that I used to make the pattern. I love masking!
One little trick that I've been doing lately is sponging my white sewing tread after it's been sewn on a project. It looks natural and saves me time from switching out my thread!
Here is the finished ensemble!
So what are your first thoughts on Let freedom Ring? How do you celebrate patriotic holidays? If you aren't American... share a little about your country's patriotic holidays... I'd love to hear all about it!
Don't forget to check out Nichole's, Lauren's, Melissa's and Candice's blog for their fun Papertrey projects!
Remember... for the next 5 days I will have something fun to share with you using Let freedom Ring! See you tomorrow and thanks for poppy-ing by!

Very cute! I always try to make viewing fireworks part of my 4th of July celebration. They never cease to make me ooh, aah and smile.

Lisa, this set is great. My step-daughter and her
husband were both born on the Fourth of July, so I can
see using this set for many years to come for birthday
cards as well as decorations for our holiday picnics.
Your project is adorable and I can't wait to see the
rest. Putting this stamp set on my "Must Have" list!

On Australia day we have BBQs parties and invite the whole street. Nearly everyone goes to the beach afterwards--bondi is packed with people--- and everyone gets really sunburnt because its in the middle of summer.lol

Very cool set you designed. Looking forward to seeing what else you come up with....this looks completely patriotic to me so I'm ready to have my sox blown off and see how you "change" the feel of this set! :-)

This is a very pretty set - when I saw the preview, i thought it was for Fireworks Night (duh...!!) which is a holiday in England mostly - but we scots nicked it for one of our Celtic autumn festivals!! We are still hoping that our Patron Saints Day will be recohnised as a holiday - it seems mad that the New Yorkers have Scottish WEEK but we don't even celebrate one day of national pride !! xx

Great job, this is a wonderful set. I think every military member needs to receive a thank you card made with this

Thank you for the $15 sets! I don't have a large craft budget, some months the budget is zero, and being able to buy a beautiful stamp set for $15 makes my day! Your projects are perfect! I love the little swirly above the firecracker.

Love your new set! Thanks for sharing! Happy Mothers Day!
Posted by: Jessie | May 10, 2009 at 07:04 AM
This is a great set, and although it isn't directly related to Canada Day, I am sure I will be able to find a use for it. My experience with Canada Day has always included a HUGE day in the park with concerts on multiple stages, food and other outdoor activities everywhere, topped off with a fireworks display.

Posted by: Jennipurr | May 10, 2009 at 04:17 PM
Oh wow Lisa, I thought I was safe from wanting this set because I don't make 4th of July cards, but those stars & stripes are fabulous! We usually have a low key 4th of July -- cook-out & watch the fireworks. Can't wait to see the rest of the set.
