It's the first of the month... time for another PTI Senior DT challenge! This month we were challenged to create a fun Christmas ornament! This was fun for me because I make ornaments every year... so it was nice to get a start on it all!
I was playing with the Stained glass technique this last week and this came to my head right away!
It's a really easy technique... especially when using a few key elements. I used the Making Memories Tags with the template to trim the acetate. Next I stamped the open leaf wreath from Rustic Branches with Dark Chocolate Palette Ink. I colored in the Leaf with YG03 Copic Marker(on both sides)... then stamped the sentiment in the center of the wreath (coloring in the "O" with the R29 Copic Marker). I ALWAYS put the date on the ornament and Simple Alphabetwas perfect for this!!! After I set the trimmed/stamped acetate into the tag rim I colored the rim with the Red copic marker... set it aside to dry then attached the ribbon. Finally, I added crystal effects for the "stained glass" effect! This takes a little to dry... but it does exactly what is needed. I love the way that the light creates shadows behind the ornament... just like stained glass! What an easy little gift to tuck into a Christmas card! I plan on making quite a few of these this year!
I hope you will check out Nichole's and the other Amazing Senior DT member's Blogs to see what Christmas magic they have whipped up!
I can't believe the Holiday's are coming so soon! Hope you are inspired by the taste of Christmas!!!

Lisa, this is GORGEOUS! Is it hard to keep the ink from smearing on the acrylic?
