This months Papertrey InkSenior DT challenge is all about adding photos to a Holiday card...and let me tell you that is one of the hardest challenges for me! I've always struggled with being able to incorporate photos of any kind and have avoided any publication calls involving photos on cards like the plague! LOL! So with my deepest stretch of creativity here are not one but two cards I created for the challenge.
The first thing that popped into my head was this photo with Pine's Rustic Snowflakes saying! I love this saying... so sweet and applicable!
I printed the photo on shimmery cardstock after I had altered the photo by adding a text box for the sentiment. I wish you could see the shimmer... it's pretty IRL. The sentiment and card base are in Pure Poppy.
After photographing that card I was frustrated that the "special" aspect of the card wasn't really showing online... so I made another! :)
I made this little card, using the same stamps, that's focal image can come off to make an ornament. Sweet Blush was a pretty close match to the lighter pink in Ella's hat. I stamped the sentiment in Dark Chocolate and the snowflakees in Encore Silver. The snowflake punch is the Clever Lever extra jumbo Marvy snowflake... a great size for cards.
I hope you will check out the other Senior DT member Blogs...They always do an amazing job!
Becky from the release team played along for fun as well!
Oh... and I hope you will come back tomorrow when I host a little stamp set giveaway! ;)
They are both beautiful. The pure poppy with a black & white photo is striking.

Great ideas and cards Lisa! I can't wait to print a photo on the shimmer cs. Thanks again for the inspiration.

These are both great, but I love your first design! While the shimmer can't be seen easily online, I can totally imagine what that looks like and I love the layout of the card! Great job!

You did such a beautiful job "capturing the moment". Your cards are just darling!
Love the snowflake punch accents on the second card. Very soft and pretty!

I think this is an amazing idea---and these could be easily reproduced if your print cartridge would hold up! The sentiment looks like it was made for that picture! Thanks for the great inspiration!

Lisa, you should no longer avoid photo projects -- you completely rocked this. I had to create a new catagory on my blog just because of you!!!
You were the Photo Card of the Week at Card of the Week.com. You can see the original post here: http://www.cardoftheweek.com/2008/10/card-of-the-wee.html.
I did use a picture from your post, with links back to the site and the original post. I hope that is OK. Please feel free to email me if you need me to change anything.
I also have an “I was featured” on badge for you if you want it :D

Gorgeous! Simply gorgeous! I love the shimmery detail on both of the cards - the silver ink and the shimmer of the paper on the other. Great job!
