It's my turn to share a few sneak peeks for this months Papertrey Ink sneak peek! These two sets, Year of Flowers: Carnations and Healing Touch Sentiments are so sweet and delicate. Really easy to use too!
My first card uses a retro color combination... Pink and Grey! I remember in the mid 80's buying many clothes items with this combo.
Look at this sentiment from the Healing Touch Sentiments set. Isn't that just perfect! I made this card for my friend Katie who has been on many of our minds. (I even hand delivered it to her today! *Hi Katie!*)
I thought that these leaves from Turning a New Leaf went perfectly with these carnations too. It's so fun when you can combine sets.
Little Zva Creative Chrystals all additional light to the card. I like the sense of motion the add too when you are holding the card and the light bounces off them.
I used the newest Mat Stack die for the sentiment. Here's a little tip: Score the vellum then use score-tap behind that line to adhere the frame on. This is a great way to hide adhesive when using velum.
I love the depth that you can get with coloring these flowers with just a light colored, coordinating Copic marker!
It's hard to tell that I embossed some text for behind the flowers and frame. It's subtle in person but adds a little extra depth and texture.
This next card is quick and simple. I LOVE the cheery feeling it lends with the colors that I chose.
This is the larger of the two carnations in the set. It really can take up some good space! This is a 5"x5" card. It's fun to change things up with size or shape sometimes. I can write a little more inside this card because of it's size. (Yes... I actually write inside my cards!)
Notice that I used the Linen Vellum cardstock? A great way to add quick texture and even warmth to the card. It's so soft!
I broke out my clear embossing powder for this next card. I've always love bright pink and orange together. It just screams happy to me.
This sentiment from Year of Flowers: Carnations is such a happy one. It needed a happy card to go on! ;)
Here is a close up of the embossed flowers and sentiment. It's really striking in person too.
Lastly , a card with a few die cuts and Larger than Life combined with 2 collection and Healing Touch Sentiments. Sometimes I just see paper in my scrap box that looks pretty together and that's where this color combination came from. I know it's not a new one or anything I just like sharing where the spark of something came from with you!
I'm sure one of the other DT members have combined these two Mat Stack frames, 2 and 4, but I hadn't yet. It's a really fun combination and I know I'll be doing it again. I had this leftover mat stack 2 die cut that I already had stamped with a fun image from the Mat Stack 2 collection in my stamp scraps. What a fun discovery to see how perfect the sentiment fit into the frame!
Right now it's pretty cold here in the northwest so this sentiment is MORE than fitting!
I hope you've enjoyed this sneak peek of these two fun sets, Year of Flowers: Carnations and Healing Touch Sentiments. I really enjoy the ease that I found with creating with these. They both have really great sentiments too.
