Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! It's been amazing hearing all of your feedback in response to the sneak peeks of Background Basics: Christmas as well as my new patterned paper line, Sugar Plum! It's so wonderful to hear your thoughts and what you are planning on creating with these new goodies! It's only a few more days until Sept. 15th when you can purchase these through Papertrey Ink!
Are you ready for a big post? I've got a card and a scrapbook page to share today... and a whole lot of photos!
Today I get to share not only my new set, Background Basics: Christmas, but also Trees with Trimmings and a Little of Inside & Out: Christmas! (Make sure that you click on the images to see more detail.)
This card shows the first paper that I designed in the Sugar Plum patterned paper pack, the zigzag. *LOVE IT* I used the Sparkle Dots strip to create a snow type background.
This sentiment is from Inside & Out: Christmas. I love the beautiful versatility in this set.
A close up of the trees. You might also notice the glitter edge on the snow.
And the baker's twine bow... love baker's twine. Such a festive detail for this card!
One thing I wanted to point out about the Sparkle Dot strip image is that there is a large dot on one end and a small on the other. This makes it very easy to layer, align and even create corners.
Here is the inside...
Next I have a double page scrapbook layout. Talk about jumping in! LOL! I've never considered myself a scrapper... but I really am trying to do more.
We have an annual Christmas parade here in Anacortes. It seems like the whole town shows up. Can you guess who Ella is waving at? Hi Santa!
You can see on the side of the page three of the papers from the Sugar Plum patterned paper pack. I've also used several of the images to stamp the ribbon, customizing it just for this page. (I used the Text image, Zigzag, Sparkle Dot Strip, Single Candy image and Sparkle dot strip for this.)
The Single Sparkle decorates the background with the zigzag image acting as a tree ground.
The candies are from the Candy Strip image... the larger of the images in the strip.
You can see the Blue tree shares both pages helping them seem more one when they are together. (Check out Ella's mouse whiskers from her earlier performance of the nutcracker. LOL!) I love this parade so much... and everyone throws candy so that really builds excitement!
As you can see... there is some mirroring happening here. the outside details are identical and the crystal flourishes send your eyes to the photos.
Here are some detail photos.
The tree trio at the bottom. Trees with Trimmings is really an adorable set with it's sweet whimsical trees. And, even though I don't like my writing I wanted to use it. One day my kids will look back and that detail might be precious to them.
This title frame turned out even better than I had imagined! I used Fresh Alphabet to create "PARADE", then stamped the Christmas image from Holiday Spirit Sentiment and the Sparkle Strip image from Background Basics: Christmas. The numbers are from the Journaling Lines set (As are the journaling lines used for journaling.)
Doesn't it all look so Christmas Village-ish!
Here is a close up of the Tree Trio below the title. The Sugar Plum paper really goes nicely with Trees with Trimmings too!
I hope you've enjoyed today's projects! Nichole is featuring the same sets on her blog today... you wont want to miss that! Debbie, Dawn, Heather, Beth, Becky and Alli also have additional sneak peeks today.. enjoy!
See you tomorrow when I share not only another Christmas project but a non-Christmas card with Background Basics: Christmas!
