It's group post day at Papertrey Ink... and boy are you in for a treat!

I love curling up on the couch with a good book, diving in... letting the world melt away. We are all pretty big readers in my family so this stamp set, All Booked Up, is an amazing resource for my family. I'm absolutely in love with the quirky, yet elegant sentiments that Nichole has come up with. I've made a few different bookmark varieties to share today too! I can't wait to make more for my family and friends!
The first projects today are a card and set of four coordinating bookmarks.

Since we are in full summer swing I went with bright colors for this ensemble. I love the new Bookmark dies coming out this month.

I was thinking of a girlfriend when I made it so I used the girl/butterfly image from All Booked Up as the focal point.

Here is the Hawaiian Shores bookmark!

We have the most delish sunsets here... full of amazing colors and depth. I wanted to replicate that. I used Copic Markers and the Copic AirBrush system to color in the image. Such a cool result!

I used Fresh Snow ink to soften the edges of the Raspberry Fizz flower die cut.

Here is the card in full.

Fancy Flourishes seemed like the perfect accent image to the butterflies. I also added Black Crystals... but just a few for a little shine.

I love this quote that is included in the set. I love the idea of this ensemble being a thank you gift for a reading friend. Inside & Out: Thank You has the perfect sentiment to go with the quote.

Here are the four bookmarks all together. I have a little system in play here too... making sure not to repeat any color patterns.

The color of the ribbon matches the Eyelet Lace Die cut that at the top. The circle that is around the ribbon hole matches the die that is in the middle. No ribbon, circle or Eyelet lace Die cut is in the same position. It really makes a difference to work out these fun details!

One of these might just get stuck in the book I'm reading right now though. :) Three still makes a nice gift too!

This next card shows the little bookmark topper die cut and bookmark clips that Papertrey Ink is releasing this month.

I used flutterby friend to make the focal point and colored the snail in with Copic markers. A Plum Pudding paper poppy adorns the bookmark topper. Love those!

I cut a simple line into the card base with my craft knife and put the bookmark into place. i love functional cards!

This last one uses the sentiment that rings true to both myself and my girls. We have numerous photos of my girls, laying in bed asleep, with books ON THEIR FACES from falling asleep reading. LOL!

I used the smallest of the cloud dies and a circle punch to create the scene. The sparkly stamp is from Alli's newest set, Birthday Bash.

Anything goes with a bookmark. It's so easy to personalize or even create a theme for different genres.

I have to admit... I'm into YA books. Clean, whimsical, adventuresome and so much more. Right now I'm reading 'Catching Fire' by Suzanne Collins (SO good!)as well as the Pendragon Series (I'm on book 3, 'The Never War' ) By D.J. McHale. I enjoy most genres... as long as they are well written. I probably like YA/SciFi the most, although one of my all time favorite books is 'The Book Thief' by Mark Zusak (Historical fiction). I also love series... LOVE them! (some favorites: Inkheart, Eragon, Artemis Fowl, Charlie Bone, Ender's Game... just to name a few)
