Halloween is pretty big at our house... seeing that we have two birthdays really close to it in our house. So making fun stuff for the holiday is really fun for me! Nichole gave the Papertrey Ink Senior DT a challenge this month that gives me a great head start on party favors. I *think* Pepper might have the Halloween party this year.
Lauren's small version of the Tucked Away template just plain ROCKS! it's my favorite one to date. I LOVE how easy it is to make and it's so stinkin' adorable! One fun thing is that I've added a spooktacular handle using the ruffled ribbon technique I showed last week. The ribbon scrunches up so well and keeps it's shape... doesn't flop over! I used simple brads and adhesive to affix it.
I love how perfectly the tag stamps all work with it too! I used the new 2009 Halloween Tags for this... as well as Background Basics: Spots & Dots and Spooky Sweets.
I was searching around for different treats online that I could make for giving. So many great things but it's hard to tell what will work and not work. I really like sweet and salty things so this idea popped into my head and sounded yummy! I took some vanilla melts and melted them. Then dipped my Ritz crackers in. (I used the wheat ones that are less buttery tasting) Next I sprinkled them with different sprinkles.
These would be great done with Vanilla wafers too... just a lot sweeter that way.
The foil cupcake tin worked as a perfect liner. (ok... funny side note... Hannah ate one and while she was telling me how strange it was that it tasted like a yummy cookie... I noticed that the black sprinkles turned her mouth black... I busted out laughing! What a great party gag that would be huh! Heehee!)
One of my favorite aspects about this is that kids can easily make these. It's fun, easy and yummy!
