I've been doing that a lot today... sittin' here... thinkin. I've been thinking about upcoming changes. It's been a whirlwind summer. Time has not just flown... but warped into hyper speed! In just under two weeks I will have a;; my girls back in school.... in 1st, 5th, 9th and 11th grade. *whoa* And to top it off... my oldest DD took her driver's test today... and passed with a 94%! WAY TO GO ALEX!!! She starts her 1st job tomorrow too... a real week of milestones at the Johnson's! Oh... and a big thanks to Susan for showcasing one of my cards over on the Creating Keepsakes blog! *smile* How very sweet!
So with all of this thinkin' I thought I'd better share this card that I finished last week using my ruffled ribbon technique.
I've been loving playing with the Papertrey Ink saddle stitch ribbon still.... it just DOESN'T get old!
I finished up that card that I started to show in my last post.
I'm slightly addicted to On My Couch right now...It's amazing how easy a stamp set can make it to combine patterns and colors. It's just so FUN. I also broke out my Borders & Corners {circles} stamp set. I was getting in the rut of white background circles and realized it so I broke that habit with this card. It's funny because my little pet peeve about my house is that all the walls were pretty much white when we moved in. Since then I've pained walls in Chocolate, Powder Blue, Red, Moss, Sable... and SO much more is planned.
I used Pure Poppy & Plum Pudding together. So vibrant.
I have to share... a mom in our church shared the sweetest story about her son the other day. He was young at the time (4?) ... and said that he couldn't go to bed yet because their family hadn't had "face in couch time". She was confused... didn't know what that meant. She then shared how he took her to the couch, knelt down and started to pray with his face in the couch! I have to admit that everytime I look at my couches now I think of that. How very important it is to pray together as a family. :)
Back to stamping stuff... heehee. Many of you have left links to creations you've made with this Ruffled Ribbon technique. I'm posting Mr. Linky's here for you to put links in so that we all can easily check out your lovely work. Please feel free to share either a card with the ribbon technique OR On My Couch!
I can't wait to see what you've created!
